Jonelle Rainford is an Associate at Nason Yeager. As a member of the Firm’s commercial litigation practice group, Ms. Rainford’s practice involves business disputes and litigation, real estate and title litigation, landlord/tenant actions, commercial foreclosures, contract litigation, and employment/labor disputes.
Ms. Rainford obtained her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of Florida in 2006. She later obtained her Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law in 2012. Ms. Rainford achieved the Book Award in Immigration Law Seminar while at Florida State University College of Law. During the summer after her 2L year, she was selected for an externship with the Honorable Lewis Killian at the Northern District of Florida, U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
She began her legal career in real estate and creditors’ rights litigation particularly in the prosecution and defense of mortgage foreclosures. She has also been appointed Guardian ad Litem in pro bono cases for the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association, advocating for the best interest of children. Prior to her legal career, she has had extensive banking experience with large financial institutions.
Ms. Rainford is a member of the Florida Bar and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida.
Ms. Rainford was born in Kingston, Jamaica and moved to Florida when she was fifteen years old. She enjoys travel and is a contributor of Travel Junkie Tours. She also participates in monthly bike rides with Critical Mass throughout South Florida.
