Mr. Freeman is a native to Palm Beach County and was the principal of a solo practice for 17 years before joining Nason Yeager. His practice is relationship-based, and his clients consist chiefly of individuals, families and the principals of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations who need legal counsel and solutions related to an area of tax law, probate, wills and trusts, asset protection, business succession, special needs, or long-term care, including Medicaid.
His practice includes advice regarding and preparation of the following documents:
- Last wills, powers of attorney, health care surrogate designations, living wills;
- Revocable, irrevocable trusts, both inter-vivos and testamentary, including trusts for single individuals, couples, families, pets, as well as for businesses and charities;
- Formational documents and owners’ agreements, including succession and buy-sell agreements, for limited liability companies, corporations and partnerships;
- Formational documents, internal management documents, and tax exempt applications for churches, charities and other nonprofit organizations; and
- Income trusts, personal service contracts, enhanced and traditional life estate deeds, special needs trusts and other documents related to planning for long-term care and qualification for or continuation of appropriate public assistance.
Mr. Freeman speaks frequently on how individuals and families can most effectively plan to protect their assets from various threats and provide for their loved ones and other priorities, as well as navigate or avoid the probate process through the use of trusts and other tools with tax efficiency.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Freeman has helped start several charities in Florida, and has served as an adjunct professor of Business Law with the Rinker School of Business at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
