Amina M. Hafez is Senior Counsel in the Corporate Department at Nason Yeager, where she advises clients on a wide range of complex business transactions and legal matters. She has significant experience representing clients in the financial services, private equity, healthcare, and technology sectors, as well as advising art galleries, startups, nonprofits, and high-net-worth individuals.
Her practice focuses on commercial contracts, employment-related matters, mergers and acquisitions, private securities and bank financings, real estate transactions, and corporate governance. She is also well-versed in forming and operating businesses and nonprofits, establishing joint ventures, and resolving matters involving organizational separations or transitions.
Prior to joining the firm, she served as Of Counsel at Dontzin Nagy & Fleissig LLP in New York, where she led and negotiated a variety of corporate transactions and played a key role in launching and supporting a client’s Board of Directors. Prior to that, she held other legal and strategic leadership roles at global financial institutions. As COO of the Global Corporate Strategy group at Bank of America, she lead several Board and large-scale strategic projects. As an attorney at Barclays, she advised on investment strategy, regulatory initiatives, and sophisticated technology and intellectual property transactions. She started her legal career at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York and London.
She is admitted to practice in New York, California, Florida, Illinois, Tennessee, and Texas, and holds certifications in U.S. and European data privacy law (CIPP/US and CIPP/E). Outside of the office, Ms. Hafez is a certified yoga and barre instructor. She enjoys golf, tennis, sailing and Argentine tango dancing.
