John Fumero and Susan Martin featured in the DBR on Firm’s Tampa Bay Expansion
“Nason, Yeager, Gerson, Harris & Fumero is also based exclusively in Florida with offices mostly concentrated in South Florida. But it opened its first office outside of South Florida in St. Petersburg about two years ago.
Part of the reason it did open there was because the region has a vital water management district, according to Susan Roeder Martin, a shareholder based in the St. Petersburg office.
“We’re dealing with the regulatory agencies over here, including the Department of Environmental Protection and regional offices. But our environmental practice is really a statewide practice,” she said.
Yet because the firm is embracing the remote age, it doesn’t intend to hiring based on geography specifically going forward, said firm shareholder John Fumero.
Both Fumero and Roeder Martin focus heavily on environmental and water issues, which trickle into real estate matters constantly. And because the region will continue seeing a surge in water needs, their particular practice will be important in the up and coming region.
“The Tampa Bay area is on fire. It is one of the fastest growing regions in Florida, if not nationally. Because our practices support development companies, we obviously want to be close to where that activity is occurring, and right now that greater Tampa Bay area is a very robust real estate market,” Fumero said.”
