This is the fifth year in a row that shareholder Nathan “Nat” Nason has made the list. He was honored for his work in two practice areas: Commercial Litigation and Litigation – Land Use and Zoning. John Fumero was honored for his work in Environmental Law and Gloria M. Velazquez was honored for her work in Land Use and Zoning Law and Real Estate Law. Both are making the list for the third year in a row. Kyle Horth has made “Ones to Watch” for his practice in Trusts and Estate Law.
John Fumero, partner, provides strategic legal counsel to a wide array of public and private sector clients throughout the State of Florida. He is board certified by the Florida Bar in State and Federal Governmental & Administrative Law. He formerly served as General Counsel to the South Florida Water Management District. His practice encompasses procurement, public/private partnerships, property rights, zoning/land use, environmental permitting, public works, including sunshine, ethics and public records laws, as well as litigation related to these areas of law in administrative, state & federal courts. Fumero is also a Florida Supreme Court-certified mediator.
Nathan “Nat” Nason, partner, has practiced complex commercial litigation for over 25 years in South Florida and has developed substantial land use and environmental practices. He is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and a member of the Florida Bar. He is active in several community groups including: The Palm Beach County Bar Association, West Palm Beach Rotary Club and was a previous member of the Palm Beach County Environmental Appeal Board and Chair of the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce in 2014-2015.
Gloria M. Velazquez, partner, has practiced law for 25 years and her practice areas include land acquisition, due diligence, land use and zoning, permitting and local government law representing local governments. Ms. Velazquez’ major representative projects include residential urban high-rises, residential large-scale suburban communities, mixed-use developments, retail, commercial, institutional, and utility siting. Ms. Velazquez has been recognized with various legal awards of distinction in her practice areas throughout her career. As a life-time Girl Scout mentor and volunteer, she currently serves on the Board of Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida.
Kyle C. Horth, attorney, focuses on the firm’s corporate, tax and estate planning departments where he provides effective counsel to individuals and businesses on a range of corporate, tax and transactional matters, including entity formation and funding, mergers and acquisitions, tax structures and other complex business transactions. Mr. Horth concentrates his trusts and estates practice on estate planning, trust and probate administration, federal income, estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer taxation. Mr. Horth earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida prior to receiving his J.D. and Tax LL.M. from the University of Florida.
