Join us in welcoming two new attorneys: Richard Levenstein and Abby Spears. This expert duo specializes in healthcare law, specifically with respect to the representation of physicians, other medical professionals, and hospital medicals staffs and their leadership.
Richard Levenstein joined Nason Yeager as a shareholder. He practices in the areas of healthcare law and commercial and civil litigation with a heavy concentration in representing individual physicians and other healthcare professionals, professional medical practices, and the physician leadership of organized medical staffs around Florida. He has successfully challenged the policies of major hospitals and has won several substantial victories that have shaped the law to protect physicians and medical staffs. He has been Board Certified in Business Litigation by the Florida Bar since 2002.
Levenstein is the founding President of the Justice Major B. Harding American Inn of Court and former President of the Martin County Bar Association. He has served on several Florida Bar committees and served on the Board of the American Inns of Court Foundation, The Lawyers Committee of the National Center for State Courts and the American Judicature Society. He is a member of the American Society of Medical Association Counsel, the American Health Lawyers Association, the Healthcare Law Section of the Florida Bar, and the Healthcare Law Section of the American Bar Association. Levenstein is also a member of the American Medical Association’s Legal Advisory Board, and he is an Adjunct Professor of Healthcare Law at Tulane University Law School and a lecturer at Tulane University Medical School.
Levenstein has practiced in the State of Florida since 1977. Originally from the Bronx, New York, Levenstein earned his bachelor’s degree in 1973 from Tulane University in New Orleans and earned his Juris Doctor in 1976 from Tulane University Law School.
Abby Spears is an associate with a wide variety of litigation experience, including several jury trials in State and Federal Courts. She represents clients with a variety of legal issues, including commercial disputes, trust and probate litigation, real estate litigation and medical staff representation. Spears received a Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2007. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Michigan in 2004.
